Accommodation in the South Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal

Find accommodation in the most popular places to stay in the South Coast area of Kwa-Zulu Natal Province, South Africa.  Accommodation Africa South will soon provide you with a list of all the best destinations, things to do and see whether you are looking for a ‘naughty’ weekend away from the kids, an adventure, vacation or holiday accommodation or somewhere to stay because you are a travelling salesman, contractor or other profession that involves a lot of travelling and staying away from home.  We also plan to have venues and places where you can have conferences, conventions, expos,  special events like weddings, birthday parties, art, craft, and other exhibitions, as well as farmers or christmas markets and agricultural and other shows.

We also have a calendar of events in the Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN) and other places in South Africa if you wish to see whats on. The South Coast lies along the warm Indian Ocean Coastline and stretches from Port Edward on the Eastern Cape border in the south, along the Drakensberg area border in the west, and in the north it borders on the Midlands and Durban district.

Because it lies on the coast, the temperature is always warm to hot, with high humidity in the summer as a result of the warm Benguela current of the Indian Ocean. Towns on the South Coast are Port Edward, Ramsgate, Margate, uVongo, Port Shepstone, Kingsburgh, aManzimtoti, Sezela, Marburg, and uMzinto a bit inland. Smaller towns are Southport, Hibberdene, Park Rynie, Scottburg, uMkomaas, uMtentweni, and Sea Park. Hardy, Ixopo… Donnybrook, uMzimkulu, Thisties, Harding, Ekuzameni, are inland, but still considered South Coast.

Check the linked establishments for their brochure page with amenities, facilities, website, contact information, and other details. See below the table for more about the South Coast, its vicinity and neighboring areas. Below the table is a bit of history, emergency and other numbers, attractions in the area, what to do and see in and around South Coast, and links to find out more.

About the South Coast

The South Coast with its magnificent white sandy beaches, lagoons and seaside villages starts at the Umkomaas River and stretches to the Eastern Cape border. Bananas grow wild, and there are many a sugar plantation. Each winter there is a phenomenon called the sardine run, where millions of sardines migrate up the coast in the cold currents that creep up the coast further than in summer. People, birds, dolphins, and other predators come from all over to share in this natural harvest. There are many comfortable hotels, bed and breakfast establishments, comfortable mountain chalets, well-appointed camping sites, guesthouses, and lodges to provide visitors a welcome place to rest after their travels and activities of the day. It is not known as the Golf Coastfor nothing; there are many golfing-estates with excellent and challenging 18-hole courses to choose from. Two of them rank within the top 12 in the country.
