About Kruger Park

Kruger Park has a number of airstrips, as well as an airport. The Kruger Nationsl Transfrontier Park occupies a little less than 2 million hectares. It is home to an impressive number of different species of fauna and flora; amphibians, reptiles, insects, mammals, fish, birds, trees, shrubs, bulbs, and so on. It has much to offer Historically, Culturally and  also Archeologically, with many rock art sites depicting Bushmen paintings.

Kruger Park History

Named after President Paul Kruger. Established in 1898.

Attractions in and around Kruger Park

There are a number of Game Parks and Game Reserves incorporated into the Greater Kruger Park with a number of gates that give access to the park.   Pafuri gate is the most northern gate. Punda Maria gate is just south of that. Phalaborwa Gate near Phalaborwa, Phabeni Gate gives easy access to Hazyview ,Sabie and Graskop, with Paul Kruger Gate a bit further. Crocodile Bridge Gate is the closest exit to Komatipoort on your way to Mozambique. Malelane Gate is  the furthest south on the R570 to Malelane and closest exit to Mbombela (Nelspruit). Numbi Gate gives another route to Nelspruit (Mbombela) through White River. Orpen Gate on the R531 takes you to Klaserie and the R40 north takes you to Hoedspruit (Marulaneng)
